Welcome to the 2026 Alberta Marching Arts Association Winter Performance Season
(2025AMAAWPS for short—😉)

We’re excited you’re here to register for another amazing winter season. Here’s what you need to know:

  1. Two-Part Registration

    • Part One (Organization Admin): This section asks for details about your group’s insurance, member ages, contacts, and payment info.

    • Part Two (Show Staff): This section focuses on your unit’s classification, “spiel” details (show description/repertoire info), and other performance-related items.

  2. Definition of a Unit
A “unit” is simply the performing group that this registration covers.

  3. Form Completion Time
Expect each registration form to take about 5–10 minutes. You can save your progress and come back later if needed.

  4. Spiel Information
You can update your show’s description or repertoire multiple times throughout the season. We know things can change as your show develops!

  5. Music Uploads
All music uploads will continue to be managed directly in CompetitionSuite.

  6. Questions?
If you have any questions at any point, please email the Circuit Administrator and AMAA Organizers at Info@AlbertaMarchingArts.ca.

  7. More Information

FAQs

  • Hosting shows is expensive—actually more expensive than the big summer marching band events! Your registration fee covers the costs of running the show, including:

    • Paying judges (travel and accommodations)

    • Hiring the tabulation team

    • Renting equipment

    • CompetitionSuite fees

    • General admin and operating expenses

This ensures the host group isn’t left paying out of pocket. Admission fees collected at each event go entirely to the host group.

How is the registration fee split?

Most of your registration fee stays with the host group to cover operating expenses. The Alberta Marching Arts Association (AMAA) collects $75 per group, per show to fund:

    • Judge training and professional development

    • Collaborations with other organizations

    • Promotion to attract out-of-province groups

    • Workshops, summits, and community-building events

    • AMAA’s operational expenses

By splitting the fee this way, each show has the resources to run smoothly, and AMAA can keep providing year-round support.

  • Part 1 is due by end of day on Saturday, December 28. Signing up on time helps us plan ahead and ensures a seamless season for everyone.

  • If your current policy is valid at the time of registration, please send us that certificate. Once you receive the updated policy (valid for the show dates), just email it to us, and we’ll update your records.

  • We ask you to submit your initial spiel when you register.

If you need to make changes, you can update your script or music file up to 1 week prior to the event - all files must be submitted the Friday of the preceding week.

For example, shows on Feb 8 & 9 weekend will have a file due date of Friday, Jan 31.

After that, there’s no guarantee the show will have your latest information.

    Please note:

    • Updated music files are NOT accepted on the day of the show under any circumstances.

    • Music must be uploaded to CompetitionSuite.

    • Spiel updates can be updated by emailing info@AlbertaMarchingArts.ca

  • If you register after the deadline, there will be a mandatory administrative penalty fee, and we can’t guarantee space in your preferred show. Registering on time is the best way to avoid these issues!
