Safety

Anyone ‘backstage’ in the Nutrien Western Event Centre or in GMC Stadium MUST be either a performing members, staff with wristband or support personal with a wristband.

This is for everyone's safety. NO EXCEPTIONS

Performing groups should move through the event site AS A GROUP. It will be extremely busy backstage, and will greatly help event volunteers if groups remain together at all times.

NEW for Championships

Make Up & Hair Touch Ups:

  • Be sure to check out our touch-up station in Altalink Hall at warm up – just in time before heading to perform

Wellness Corner:

  • We’re pleased to have Absolute Athletic Therapists on site to assist with injuries and preventative measures. These folks will be located in Altalink Hall between floor re-fold and warm ups. Please feel free to visit them anytime during the event!

Group Photos:

  • At your designated post-performance time, please meet our photographer by the stairs of the Rotunda for group photos! Digital copies will be available by March 7 for groups

Post-Performance Hydration & Snack Station:

  • Once floors have been folded and equipment safely stored, and group photos have been taken, be sure to stop at the Hydration & Snack Station

Watch as many shows as possible!

  • Performers and those with wristbands are permitted into spectator seats, free of charge. Seats are also available on floor level

  • We encourage groups to watch before their warm up time, and post-performance (as time allows)

Percussion Equipment:

  • Post-performance, groups will store their equipment in the stalls under the bleachers until pack-up. See map below

Retreat:

  • Following the end of Dynamic All-Star’s performance, all staff and performers should proceed to Altalink Hall

  • Form Up: once groups have all their members in Altalink Hall, send one representative to collect your group sign from Bonnie Michel. The group will then proceed down the on-deck tunnel, ideally in a troop 2, 3 or 4 (depending on size of group). Captains should be at the front

  • AMAA volunteers will be on route to direct groups to their spot on the floor. Staff are welcome to walk out with their groups, or wait for them on the floor level bleachers

  • Turn up the party vibe! Let’s celebrate an incredible season with mingling amongst groups, selfies, and cheering for each other!

Organization Photos:

Truck Pack-Up:

  • Groups may pack-up their equipment directly from Nutrien following retreat. See map below for assigned loading door

Arrival

Performers should arrive at GMC Stadium anytime after 8:00AM || Encorps Explorers, Dynamic All-Stars and Jump Start should arrive at Nutrien Western Event Centre

Warm Up

Note: IT IS CRITICAL THAT GROUPS DO NOT ENTER THE WARM UP SPACE PRIOR TO THEIR DESIGNATED TIME and that GROUPS EXIT AT THEIR DESIGNATED TIME. This is in the interest of everyone's safety by reducing the chaos in the space. GROUPS THAT VIOLATE THIS MAY BE DISQUALIFIED AND/OR HAVE PRIVILEGES REVOKED AT FUTURE EVENTS.

Dedicated AMAA Logistics staff will monitor performance space and warm-ups to ensure smooth flow between spaces. Please keep eyes up for queues from these folks.

Guard: schedule allows for ~3x their class interval time as warm up in Altalink.

Winds: schedule allows for a 60 minute warm up in GMC, with 5 minutes to re-warm in Altalink.

Percussion: schedule allows for lengthy warm ups in GMC. Please self-monitor and move to Nutrien when appropriate for your group.

GMC to Nutrien: Be sure to check with the door volunteers before moving to Nutrien for current timing of the show.

Sound Check

If groups would like to confirm their track, please meet our sound volunteer in the performance space at 9:00am

Site Maps

Site Notes:

We are utilizing spaces that are usually used for agriculture purposes. Although the arena is clear of dirt this year (yay!), these are still very dusty spaces. Please have your staff and members plan accordingly.

Winds & Percussion: are to follow the horizontal timing line.

Please ensure that your floor is ready to unfold accordingly.

Schedules

Note: Schedule is subject to changes. AMAA website links are the one true source for information.

Performers with Multiple Groups

It’s very exciting that our community offers multiple opportunities for members to perform! Although AMAA has tried to separate groups with shared members in the performance order, we know that it will be a rush for those members.

  • NEW Quick Changes can occur in the washrooms in the Nutrien Show Office. Members can pre-set their items here ahead of their performances.

  • Once changed, performers may re-enter the performance space FROM THE EXIT - DO NOT go back to the performers entrance, simply retrace the path back to the performance space and re-enter when the 2nd group interval time begins. See map for details

  • Groups should NOT cross the timing line until all members are in the performance gym

  • MC script has lots of content to share - be sure to take a breath and get into the zone

Any day-of concerns can be shared with the AMAA Logistical Liaisons Bonnie or Grace upon arrival on-site.

Sound & Script

Performance Music needs to be uploaded via CompetitionSuite

Script Spiels can be updated with the Mid-Season Change Form

Updates to music and spiels no later than Friday, February 20
